From Buddha to Jesus
Steve Cioccolanti was born in Bangkok into a family that spanned four faiths — Buddhism, Catholicism, Methodism, and Islam. Faith was everywhere around him, and none of it was settled. He grew up fluent in the language of religion but restless with the questions underneath it: Which of these is actually true? And how would anyone know?
That restlessness followed him abroad and back again. In the emptiness that followed years of searching across four religions, he reached a breaking point and prayed one final, desperate prayer to whoever was listening. The Holy Spirit met him there and intervened.
Soon after, back in Thailand, an ex-Buddhist monk who had found Christ asked the questions a lifetime of religion had never resolved: Have you never sinned? Where do sinners go when they die? That day Steve encountered Jesus for himself — and the prophecy spoken over him, that he would go to the nations, began its fulfillment.
He didn't just change religions. He'd spent his whole life measuring faiths against each other from the outside — and for the first time, he was standing inside one. That vantage point, the insider who had seen it all from the other side, became his life's work. He wrote it down, and From Buddha to Jesus went on to reach readers around the world and translation into several languages.
